Yes. In fifth grade I swiped a beautiful rosary from the lost-and-found box at the back of the church. That night I lay awake imagining who that someone might have been -- the person who owned a lovely rosary and lost it. Next day, I tried to put it back, but the box had already been moved back to the locked church office.

Well, 1963 sucked, period. I had three heroes: John XXIII, John F Kennedy, and C. S. Lewis.  John XXIII died in 1963  [on my birthday, dammit!] -- and both C. S. Lewis and Kennedy died on November 22, 1963.

Nov. 22 -- that was the killer, and I'm still not completely over it.

Dave Brubeck.   \Wait, wait-- Make that Spike Jones, I loved him from the first time I was astonished by them.  I mean the real Spike from the 50's when I was in grade school.  The ones that murdered popular songs.  And then came Stan Freburg.  They were the Weird Al's of their day.  See, being old means we've seen more funny stuff.
